Well, after some finagling at San Francisco International we flew standby on some earlier flights (numbers 12 and 13 of the whole trip) and got back to Boston a day earlier, after spending a pleasant, if short evening in Portland with the Bartells. This found time will be put to good use, with much sitting around, staring absently at the walls.
